During the meeting, which was also attended by the Turkish Speaker Mustafa Sentop, both sides stressed the importance of developing economic cooperation between the two countries.

On his part, President Erdogan expressed optimism that the talks between Iran and the P4+1 in Vienna to proceed with the negotiations on the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal and to remove sanctions would conclude in a fair way.

He also urged international organizations to assist Iran in hosting Afghan refugees who have fled to the country as a result of the country’s current crisis.

Erdogan also expressed hope that he could pay a visit to Tehran in near future.

On the other hand, Ghalibaf said that the comprehensive agreement on cooperation between Iran and Turkey, which is now being finalized, symbolizes the two nations’ earnest desire to deepen their ties.

He emphasized Iran’s support for the South Caucasus’ 3+3 format and stated that all countries in the region should have good relations with one another.

On the Vienna negotiations, the Iranian speaker said that major powers should learn not to impose their will on other countries, and that if they realize the importance of respecting other nations’ interests, an agreement may be within reach.
