Manipur government on Monday had taken decision to seal the Indo-Myanmar border
By issuing an order following the directive of the Manipur Governor, the state education department said in the order, “In order to ensure reduction of mass gatherings and to avoid spread of the Covid-19 or coronavirus, and as a precautionary measure, the Governor of Manipur has ordered that all schools (government, government-aided, including private schools) within Manipur shall remain closed with immediate effect till March 31, 2020 in public interest.”
“However, all kinds of examination already scheduled (both theory and practical) conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM) and Council of Higher Secondary Schools (COHSEM) will not be affected,” the order copy read.
The Manipur government has also directed all district deputy commissioners and zonal education officers to ensure compliance of the order by all concerned stakeholders.
In the view of possible threat of transmission of Covid-19, the Manipur government on Monday had taken a decision to seal the Indo-Myanmar border.
Following the order from special secretary (Home) of Manipur government, the Moreh section of Indo-Myanmar border was sealed since Tuesday morning.
All the entry and exit points including legitimate gates (Gate No 1 and 2 of Indo-Myanmar friendship bridge, Menar bridge gate) have been closed and the troops of Assam Rifles and Manipur Police personnel are keeping a strict vigil in the bordering areas.
