TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in video conference with his Emirati counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan said the current situation may persuade others to spread instability in the region, and neighbors should think on the ways of establishing stability.

Zarif said the critical circumstances in the region require all regional nations to give hand in hand to contribute to calm and stability in line with their own interests.

Abdullah bin Zayed, for his part, underlined the need for maintaining cooperation between Tehran and Abu Dhabi, continuation of consultations and turning threats to opportunity.

“Just had a very substantive, frank and friendly video conversation with UAE FM ABZayed, discussing COVID as well as bilateral, regional and global situations,” Zarif on a Twitter message wrote after the virtual conference.

“We agreed to continue dialog on theme of hope—especially as region faces tough challenges, and tougher choices ahead,” he added.

In relevant remarks in mid-March, Mohammad Javad Zarif and Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in a phone conversation underlined the necessity for cooperation among all countries to fight against the global coronavirus pandemic.

During the phone talk late on Sunday, Zarif also appreciated Emirati top diplomat for his solidarity and also the UAE’ contributions.

Zarif described coronavirus as a global issue which requires all countries’ determination and cooperation.
